Spend enough to buy about 100 clicks a month in your trade: roughly $542 at LocaliQ's June 2026 average of $5.42 a click, $800 in dental and $987 for a law firm. That money goes to Google. What Google Ads costs has every trade, and Ziwi's management is $297 a month.
About 40 people a month search how much should i spend on google ads, and about 1,300 search how much does google ads cost (our September 2026 pull). The cost question has a benchmark answer. The spend question is yours to work out, and it has three inputs: what a click costs in your trade, how many clicks turn into leads, and how many leads it takes to fill the calendar.
Enough for about 100 clicks a month in your trade, which on LocaliQ's June 2026 benchmarks is roughly $542 at the all industry average and $800 to $987 in dental, home services and legal work. That is Ziwi's floor for a readable test, not a Google rule, because 100 clicks at the 8.18 percent average conversion rate is about 8 leads, and fewer than that tells you almost nothing (LocaliQ 2026 Search Advertising Benchmarks, last updated 1 June 2026).
| Trade (LocaliQ, June 2026) | Average cost per click | 100 clicks a month | Average cost per lead |
|---|---|---|---|
| All industries | $5.42 | About $542 | $66.69 |
| Dentists and dental services | $8.00 | About $800 | $72.97 |
| Home and home improvement | $8.33 | About $833 | $90.92 |
| Attorneys and legal services | $9.87 | About $987 | $131.63 |
The spread between those rows is about what one customer is worth, not about how hard the ads are to run.
A law firm can pay $9.87 a click because one case is worth thousands, and a trade with a smaller ticket has to be tighter with the same budget. Your own click price will not match the row exactly, because your city and your competitors set it.
You set an average daily budget per campaign, and Google may spend up to 2 times that on a busy day but no more than 30.4 times it in a month (Google Ads Help, about average daily budgets, checked 26 September 2026). So a $33 a day budget can bill up to $66 on one day and no more than about $1,003 across the month.
Work backwards from customers: the patients or jobs you want, divided by your close rate, times what a lead costs in your trade. A worked example for a dental office uses LocaliQ's June 2026 dental average of $72.97 a lead; swap in your own numbers where you have them.
Customers wanted. 6 new patients a month.
Close rate. If 1 lead in 3 books, 6 patients takes 18 leads.
Price the lead. 18 leads at the $72.97 dental average is about $1,313 a month.
Set the day. $1,313 divided by 30.4 is a daily budget of about $43.
Check it against the patient. $1,313 for 6 patients is about $219 each in ad spend. If a new patient is worth more than that over time, the budget is defensible. If not, fix the offer before you raise the spend.
That $1,313 sits in Ziwi's first management band, so the full month is $1,313 to Google plus $297 to Ziwi. The example is arithmetic on a national average, not a forecast for your office, and your own cost per lead is the number to put in its place after the first 30 days.
Want the budget sized and the account run for you?
Ziwi works the budget back from your leads, builds the campaigns, blocks the wasted searches and tracks every call. $297 a month with spend up to $1,500, month to month.
Google sets no minimum spend, so the smallest budget worth running is the one that buys about 100 clicks in your trade each month: roughly $18 a day at the all industry average and $26 to $32 a day in dental, home services and legal work. Below that, a slow week and a broken campaign look the same, and you end the month without a decision.
For trades Google covers, often yes, because Local Services Ads charge per lead instead of per click and sit above the regular search ads. Google says lead prices vary with your location, the job type, the lead type and your bidding mode, and you set an average weekly budget rather than a daily one (Google Local Services Help, checked September 2026). Ziwi runs Local Services Ads on the same $297, $497 and $797 fee ladder as search campaigns.

Ziwi charges $297 a month with ad spend up to $1,500, $497 with $1,500 to $3,500, and $797 above $3,500, one fee that also covers Facebook and Instagram if you run them. The spend goes to Google on your own card, the account is in your name, and there is no percentage of spend and no long contract.
| Monthly ad spend | Ziwi management fee | Example month |
|---|---|---|
| Up to $1,500 | $297 | $1,313 to Google plus $297 is $1,610 |
| $1,500 to $3,500 | $497 | $2,500 to Google plus $497 is $2,997 |
| Above $3,500 | $797 | $5,000 to Google plus $797 is $5,797 |
The answer to how much you should spend on Google Ads is a sum, not a benchmark: the clicks your trade charges, the leads you need, and a month long enough to judge. For every click price by trade, see what Google Ads costs in 2026, and for the fee side see what Google Ads management costs, or see one fee for Google and Facebook ads if you run both.
