About 320 people a month search "local seo pricing", plus 590 on "how much does seo cost", 480 on "local seo packages", 170 each on "seo cost per month" and "monthly seo cost", 140 on "local seo cost" and 90 on "local seo services pricing" (our September 2026 pull). When we checked those results on 3 September 2026, page one for "local seo pricing" was agency explainers and a Reddit thread, and most of them answer with a range rather than a price. Here are the three prices, what changes between them, and what the timeline honestly looks like.

What does local SEO cost a month?

The short answer

Published market figures put local SEO retainers at roughly $500 to $3,000 a month, with fixed managed services sitting near the top of that. Ziwi publishes $297, $597 and $997 a month per location.

The table names each source so you can open it and check the number yourself.

Two structural notes before you compare. First, most local SEO is priced per location because the work is per location, so a three-site business is buying three of something, not one bigger something. Second, an hourly rate tells you nothing about outcomes, which is why Ziwi does not sell local SEO by the hour.

What do you get at $297, $597 and $997?

The foundation is identical on all three rungs: audit, Google Business Profile, citations, on-page fixes, review asks, call tracking and a monthly report. What changes as you go up is content volume and link work, which are the two levers that decide how fast you move in a competitive market.

RungPrice per month, per locationWhat it adds
Local SEO Essentials$297Google Business Profile posted weekly, citations built and kept consistent, on-page fixes, review asks, one content piece a quarter, monthly report
Local SEO$597Everything in Essentials, plus a new page or post every month, service-line pages and local link outreach
Local SEO Plus$997Everything in Local SEO, plus up to four content pieces a month and a link and digital-PR program, built for competitive markets

Every rung includes the full technical and local audit in week one, not as a separate $500 to $5,000 project.

Call tracking on organic is included too, so search shows up in your cost-per-booked-call math rather than in a rankings screenshot.

The full inclusion list sits on SEO and local search, and the plain-English explainer is what local SEO actually is.

Local SEO is priced per pin, because the work is done per pin.

How long does local SEO take to work?

Profile and map improvements often move within weeks, but real movement on the searches that make money usually takes three to six months, and it compounds after that. Nobody can guarantee a ranking or a timeline, including us, because Google decides and your competitors get a vote. What we can commit to is that the foundation goes in during month one and you see every step of it in the report.

WhenWhat is happeningWhat you can reasonably watch
Month 1Audit, Google Business Profile rebuilt, tracking wired to organic, service pages drafted, citations cleaned upProfile views and calls from the profile, plus the fixes themselves
Months 2 to 3Content publishing, review velocity, listings settling, on-page work compoundingMap pack impressions, calls from search, early keyword movement
Months 3 to 6Service and town pages maturing, links landing, reviews accumulatingMovement on the searches that actually produce calls
Month 6 and afterThe asset compounds: pages, reviews and profile keep producingA blended cost per booked call that falls over time

That timeline is why we do not ask for an annual contract. A twelve-month agreement is usually there to protect the agency during the slow part, and month to month means we have to keep earning the next month instead. While rankings build, paid search covers the demand you are not winning yet, which is what Google Ads and Local Services Ads are for.

Want your market handled for you?

Local SEO from Ziwi is $297, $597 or $997 a month per location, month to month, with the audit and call tracking included from week one.

Why is local SEO priced per location?

Because almost every part of the work is per location: one Google Business Profile, one set of citations, one review stream, one set of service-area pages. A second location does not share the first one's map pack ranking, so it needs its own profile, its own listings and its own local content.

  • The profile is per address. Each location has its own Google Business Profile, categories, photos and posts, and each one ranks separately.
  • Citations are per address. The name, address and phone have to be consistent everywhere, per site, or Google's confidence in each one drops.
  • Reviews are per location. A five-star flagship does not lift a new branch across town.
  • Pages are per location. A page for each service in each town is what local search rewards, and that page count grows with your footprint.

How does Ziwi's price compare to the market?

Ziwi Essentials at $297 sits below the $501 floor of WebFX's published 2026 retainer range and below WebFX's own $575 starting price. At the top, Local SEO Plus at $997 is under BrightLocal's published $1,299 a month per location for managed local SEO, checked September 2026.

And a cheaper retainer is not automatically better value: what matters is what is inside it, per location, per month.

Which rung should you start on?

Start at $297 if your profile and listings have never been properly done, because that is where the fastest wins usually are. Move up when content volume, not foundation work, is the thing holding you back.

  • $297 Essentials. One location, a thin or unclaimed Google Business Profile, messy listings, few reviews. Fix the foundation before paying for volume.
  • $597 Local SEO. The foundation is sound and you need a page or post every month plus service-line pages to compete for more searches.
  • $997 Local SEO Plus. A competitive market or a multi-location footprint, where up to four pieces a month and a link and digital-PR program are what separates positions.
  • Not sure. The audit comes first and the scope is priced openly. If your market is national rather than local, it is scoped after the audit rather than off this menu.

Reviews are the other half of local ranking and are priced separately at $197 a month per location on reviews and reputation. Every published rate sits on the pricing page, and the terms behind the month-to-month model are on no-contract marketing. To see the full scope of the work at each rung, read SEO and local search.
