Call Tracking Price: How Much Does Call Tracking Cost?

Call tracking price runs $30 to $195 a month at the named platforms, before per-number and per-minute charges, which is what most people mean by call tracking cost. Ziwi does not sell it separately: call tracking and reporting is included in every plan.

About 680 searches a month in the US go to the cost of call tracking, split across "call tracking cost", "call tracking pricing" and "callrail pricing" (our September 2026 pull). Almost every page answering them is published by a call tracking vendor, which is a strange place to get a price comparison. Here are the published numbers from the platforms themselves, the raw carrier cost underneath them, and the reason Ziwi treats this as part of the plan rather than a line item.

How much does call tracking cost per month?

The short answer

Entry plans at the main platforms run $30 to $50 a month, and full plans reach $195, with extra numbers and extra minutes billed on top. The number pool and the minutes are what actually move your bill: CallRail includes 5 numbers and 250 minutes, then charges $3 per extra local number and $0.05 per extra local minute.

Ziwi includes call tracking in every plan, so there is no separate charge and no standalone price to publish.

Every figure above is taken from the company's own pricing page on 3 September 2026: callrail.com/pricing, whatconverts.com/pricing and Twilio's US voice pricing. The Twilio row is the honest floor, because it is what the phone numbers and the minutes genuinely cost before anyone builds software around them.

Why does Ziwi include call tracking instead of charging for it?

Because a marketing plan you cannot measure is guesswork, and we would rather be judged on booked jobs than on a dashboard. The raw cost is also small: at Twilio's published rates a local number is $1.15 a month and inbound minutes are less than a cent each, so a separate $50 line is mostly margin, not cost. Bundling it removes the conversation where a client decides to skip the one thing that tells them which half of the budget worked.

  • It is in every plan. Local SEO from $297 a month per location, ads management from $297 a month, websites, Ziwi Care. Same inclusion, no upgrade required.
  • There is no standalone price. We do not sell call tracking on its own, so there is no number to compare against CallRail's $50.
  • The numbers stay yours. As with your website, domain and ad accounts, you own the setup and can take it with you.
  • It feeds the monthly report. Calls, forms and where they came from, in plain numbers, rather than a login you never open.

Want the phone tracked properly?

How many tracking numbers does a small business need?

Most single-location businesses need three to six numbers, one per channel you want to tell apart. A typical set is one for Google Ads, one for the Google Business Profile, one for the website's organic traffic and one for print or vehicle signage. That fits inside the 5 numbers a $50 CallRail plan includes, which is why the minutes, not the numbers, are what usually pushes a bill up.

  1. Count your channels, not your phones. One number per source you want to separate is the whole rule.
  2. Check your call minutes. 250 included minutes is a little over four hours, which at three minutes a call is roughly 80 calls before overage starts.
  3. Do the overage math. At $0.05 a minute, another 200 minutes is $10, so busy months cost a little more and that is fine.
  4. Add a second location as a set, not a copy. Each location wants its own numbers so the reports stay separable.
  5. Keep one number per channel for a full year. Swapping numbers around resets your history and makes month to month comparison useless.

Every channel gets its own number. The report is what tells them apart.

What does call tracking actually tell you?

It tells you which marketing produced the phone call, which is the only way to price a customer honestly in trades where nobody fills in a form. Without it you get a total spend and a busy phone, and no way to connect the two. With it you can see that the map listing produced twelve calls and the ads produced nine, and decide where next month's money goes.

  • Source of every call. Ads, map listing, organic search, signage, each on its own number.
  • Missed calls. Often the most expensive number on the report, because you already paid to make the phone ring.
  • Call length. A pattern of 20 second calls usually means a pricing or hours problem, not a marketing problem.
  • Cost per call by channel. The figure that turns a Google Ads budget from a leap of faith into arithmetic.
  • Time of day. If a third of the calls land after 5pm and nobody answers them, the fix is answering, not more advertising.

Can you just build call tracking yourself on Twilio?

You can, and the phone side is cheap: $1.15 a month per US local number and $0.0085 per inbound minute at Twilio's published US rates.

What you are buying at CallRail or WhatConverts is not the phone line, it is the dynamic number swapping on the website, the recordings, the reporting and the connection back to your ad accounts. Building that yourself costs developer hours forever, which is why almost nobody does past the first month.

As of our 3 September 2026 check, page one for "what is call tracking" is entirely vendors: CTM, Invoca, Twilio, CallRail and Podium. All of them have a plan to sell you. Ziwi's position is simpler: call tracking comes with the plan, at no separate charge, and the setup belongs to you.
